Program Medical Director

The Program Medical Director (“PMD”), Hope to Health Research and Innovation Complex (H2H), is responsible, in partnership with the Clinical Operations Director, for the planning and implementation of existing clinical services. These include longitudinal and episodic primary care, provision of opioid agonist therapy (OAT), provision of injectable OAT, harm reduction services, safer drug supply, supervised consumption site, clinical teaching and specialist care. Reporting to the Clinical Operations Manager and working in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, the duties of Registered Nurse/ Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) include working with the health care team to assess and engage new clients/patients, documenting assessments and developing and carrying out care plans and interventions in consultation with team members. Reporting to the Clinical Operations Manager and working in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, the Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for providing nursing care to an assigned group of patients/clients according to established policies and procedures and the Standards of Practice for the Licensed Practical Nurses of British Columbia. Duties include participating in care conferences and in developing care plans, conducting assessments, implementing and evaluating interventions, documenting information, and acting as an advocate for patients/residents.

The BC-CfE Laboratory is streamlining reporting processes for certain tests in order to simplify distribution and record-keeping, and to ensure completeness of results. Beginning September 2, 2025, results for the ‘Resistance Analysis of HIV-1 Protease and Reverse Transcriptase’ (Protease-RT) and ‘HIV-1 Integrase Resistance Genotype’ tests will be combined into a single ‘HIV-1 Resistance Genotype Report’.
