Abertura de Congresso HIV/Aids acontece nesta terça

O governador Ricardo Coutinho participa nesta terça-feira (17) da solenidade de abertura oficial do 10º Congresso de HIV/Aids e do 3º Congresso de Hepatites Virais, prevista para as 16h, no Teatro Pedra do Reino, no Centro de Convenções de João Pessoa. O ministro da Saúde, Marcelo Castro, a secretária Estadual de Saúde, Roberta Abath, e o diretor do Departamento de DST, Aids e Hepatites Virais (DDAHV) do MinistŽrio da Saúde, Fábio Mesquita, confirmaram presença no evento.

O grupo do Programa de Inclusão AtravŽs da Música e das Artes (Prima), do Governo do Estado, ficará responsável pela apresentação cultural. A solenidade será encerrada com a conferência “Por que pensar no fim da epidemia em 2030?”, com Julio Montaner, do Canadá.

“A abertura fará a apresentação da programação e enfatizará que os congressos abordarão o estado da arte da política de saúde da Aids e Hepatites Virais, envolvendo a comunidade científica, movimentos sociais e gestores de saúde”, afirmou a gerente executiva da Vigilância em Saúde da Secretaria de Estado da Saúde, Renata Nóbrega.

AlŽm das autoridades políticas, participarão da abertura oficial instituições de ensino superior, diretorias de serviços de saúde do Estado, secretários municipais de saúde, representantes da Assembleia Legislativa, Organizações Não-Governamentais, movimentos sociais, veículos de imprensa e representantes de todas as secretarias diretas e indiretas do Estado.

Opening Congress HIV / AIDS happens on Tuesday

Governor Ricardo Coutinho participates on Tuesday (17) the official opening ceremony of the 10th Congress of HIV / AIDS and the 3rd Congress of Viral Hepatitis, scheduled for 16h at the Teatro Stone of the Kingdom, in João Pessoa Convention Center . The Minister of Health, Marcelo Castro, the State Secretary of Health, Roberta Abath, and the director of the Department of STD, AIDS and Viral Hepatitis (DDAHV) of the Ministry of Health, Fábio Mesquita, confirmed their presence at the event.

The Inclusion Program of the group through Music and Arts (Press), the State Government, will be responsible for cultural presentation. The ceremony will end with the conference “Why think at the end of the epidemic in 2030?”, With Julio Montaner, Canada.

“The opening will introduce the program and emphasize that the congress will address the state of the art health policy AIDS and Viral Hepatitis, involving the scientific community, social movements and health managers,” said the executive manager of Surveillance in Health Ministry of Health, Renata Nobrega.

In addition to the political authorities, will attend the official opening institutions of higher education, state health service boards, municipal health secretaries, representatives of the Legislative Assembly, non-governmental organizations, social movements, media outlets and representatives of all direct offices and state indirect.

During the Canada Post strike announced September 25, 2025, the following measures will be undertaken to minimize service disruption to BC-CfE clients and providers.

  • The BC-CfE Laboratory has transitioned to private courier for delivery of outgoing reports and documents. Results required urgently can be faxed upon request. (Lab Contact Information: Phone 604-806-8775; FAX 604-806-9463)
  • The BC-CfE Drug Treatment Program (DTP) will fax outgoing forms and documents to the provider’s office. (DTP Contact Information: Phone 604-806-8515; FAX 604-806-9044)
  • St. Paul’s Hospital Ambulatory Pharmacy has transitioned to private courier for delivery of medications. We recommend requesting medication at least 2 weeks in advance in case of delivery delays, particularly to rural/remote parts of BC. (Contact Information: Phone 1-800-547-3622; FAX 604-806-8675)

During the Canada Post strike, we recommend that documents be faxed or couriered to our sites, versus utilization of regular mail service

The BC-CfE Laboratory is streamlining reporting processes for certain tests in order to simplify distribution and record-keeping, and to ensure completeness of results. Beginning September 2, 2025, results for the ‘Resistance Analysis of HIV-1 Protease and Reverse Transcriptase’ (Protease-RT) and ‘HIV-1 Integrase Resistance Genotype’ tests will be combined into a single ‘HIV-1 Resistance Genotype Report’.
