Forefront Lecture by Dr. Paula Braitstein

On Wednesday, March 21st, the BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS Forefront Lecture Series will be presenting a lecture by Dr. Paula Braitstein titled “The Orphaned and Separated Children’s Assessments Related to their (OSCAR’s) Health and Well-Being Study: A community-based cohort in western Kenya.”

Dr. Braitstein is an epidemiologist living and working in Eldoret, Kenya with the Moi University School of Medicine & USAID-Academic Model Providing Access to Healthcare (AMPATH) Partnership. Originally from Montreal, Paula spent 13 years working in the community-based HIV/AIDS movement in Canada as an HIV treatment educator and activist. After completing her MSc and PhD in epidemiology at the University of British Columbia, she went on to do her post-doctoral research in Bern, Switzerland working with the Antiretroviral Treatment in Lower Income Countries (ART-LINC) Collaboration. Today her research focuses on vulnerable and marginalized children in sub-Saharan Africa, including orphans and HIV-infected and affected children.

The talk will take place at 12pm in the New Lecture Theatre (SPH 1477) at St. Paul’s Hospital.

  • St. Paul’s Hospital Ambulatory Pharmacy has transitioned to private courier for delivery of medications. (Contact Information: Phone 1-800-547-3622; FAX 604-806-8675)

During this time, we recommend that documents be faxed or couriered to our sites, versus utilization of regular mail service.
