Dr. Lappalainen’s lecture “Butting out? What’s new in smoking cessation”

Please join us on Thursday, April 24th for this month’s edition of the “What’s New in Addiction Medicine?” lecture series.

This (free) event features a presentation by Dr. Leslie Rae Lappalainen, UBC Enhanced Skills Resident in Addictions, between 12-12:55pm. Dr. Lappalainen’s talk is entitled “Butting out? What’s new in smoking cessation” and will be hosted at St. Paul’s Hospital in the Hurlburt Auditorium. A light lunch will be provided.

We strongly encourage guests to RSVP as soon as possible to ensure sufficient food and space. (Please note that you will not need to bring registration tickets to the event.)

The BC-CfE Laboratory is streamlining reporting processes for certain tests in order to simplify distribution and record-keeping, and to ensure completeness of results. Beginning September 2, 2025, results for the ‘Resistance Analysis of HIV-1 Protease and Reverse Transcriptase’ (Protease-RT) and ‘HIV-1 Integrase Resistance Genotype’ tests will be combined into a single ‘HIV-1 Resistance Genotype Report’.
