We are pleased to invite you to the BC-CfE Update. The focus of this event will be syndemic conditions, including syphilis and other sexually transmitted and bloodborne conditions, and comprehensive care clinical models. This is an open educational event sponsored by the BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS.

THE EVENT WILL TAKE PLACE IN PERSON AND VIRTUALLY:

* in-person attendance is limited; therefore, early pre-registration is encouraged

Following this conference, attendees will be able to:

  • Discuss the interaction of various comorbidities within syndemic theory
  • Identify optimal strategies to accelerate the control of syndemics within key populations in British Columbia
  • Illustrate the emerging role of preventive therapy for the control of bacterial sexually transmitted infections, including but not limited to syphilis
  • Demonstrate the role of enhanced primary care and supervised consumption to enhance outcomes among persons who use drugs within inner city settings

During the Canada Post strike, the following measures have been undertaken to minimize service disruption to BC-CfE clients and providers.

  • The BC-CfE Laboratory has transitioned to private courier for delivery of outgoing reports and documents. (Lab Contact Information: Phone 604-806-8775; FAX 604-806-9463)
  • The BC-CfE Drug Treatment Program (DTP) will fax outgoing forms and documents to the provider’s office.  (DTP Contact Information: Phone 604-806-8515; FAX 604-806-9044)
  • St. Paul’s Hospital Ambulatory Pharmacy has transitioned to private courier for delivery of medications. (Contact Information: Phone 1-800-547-3622; FAX 604-806-8675)

During this time, we recommend that documents be faxed or couriered to our sites, versus utilization of regular mail service.
