Spring 2026 BC-CfE Update

We are pleased to invite you to the Spring 2026 BC-CfE Update; the focus of this event will be on HIV/AIDS. This is an open educational event sponsored by the BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS.

The Spring 2026 BC-CfE Update will address the status of the HIV/AIDS epidemic with an emphasis on the latest clinical c=findings and best practice. Following this conference, attendees will be able to:

  • Examine key issues affecting communities impacted by HIV in BC;
  • Discuss the role of new long-acting injectable antiretrovirals in the treatment and prevention of HIV in BC;
  • Summarize current vaccine recommendations for people living with HIV; and
  • Review recent insights from HIV cure research.

The BC-CfE Laboratory is streamlining reporting processes for certain tests in order to simplify distribution and record-keeping, and to ensure completeness of results. Beginning September 2, 2025, results for the ‘Resistance Analysis of HIV-1 Protease and Reverse Transcriptase’ (Protease-RT) and ‘HIV-1 Integrase Resistance Genotype’ tests will be combined into a single ‘HIV-1 Resistance Genotype Report’.
