Sida en Mendoza: de 3.400 enfermos apenas unos 2 mil se atienden
La polmica nacional desatada luego de las declaraciones de Ãlex Freyre, titular del Archivo de la Memoria de la Diversidad Sexual, contra el coreógrafo mediático AnÃbal Pachano, al que le pronosticó la muerte si gana el candidato por el Frente Renovador Sergio Massa, despertó el inters por conocer qu ocurre en Mendoza en torno a las personas que padecen el sÃndrome de inmunodeficiencia adquirida, comúnmente conocido como sida.
Las estadÃsticas muestran que a pesar de que existe una ley nacional (23.798) que lucha contra esta infección y programas provinciales que destinan importantes sumas de dinero para tratar gratuitamente a todos los afectados, de un total de 3.400 personas diagnosticadas en Mendoza con resultados positivos sólo entre 1.800 y 2.000 reciben el tratamiento estatal.
Los motivos por los cuales alguien decide no seguirlos son variados y dependen de muchos factores. Según VÃctor Bittar, jefe del Programa Provincial de Prevención y Asistencia del Sida, los números surgen de una ficha de notificación que realiza un mdico cuando el estudio de sangre da positivo, asà como lo exige la normativa nacional desde 1990 en adelante, con la sanción de la ley y la creación de una dirección con autoridad nacional.

Lanzarán campaña nacional de testeo
La semana que viene se hace desde Mendoza el lanzamiento de la campaña nacional de promoción del testeo de VIH sida y tendrá por eslogan “Elegà saber”. La presentación oficial se realizará el próximo jueves 23 a las 10.30 en Casa de Gobierno y contará entre otras personalidades de renombre con la presencia del doctor Julio González Montaner. En Mendoza existen seis espacios destinados al diagnóstico y asesoramiento de este sÃndrome. Están en el Centro de Medicina Emilio Coni, en el hospital Lencinas, en el Central, en el Centro de Salud Ãngel Prsico, de Palmira, en el Scaravelli, de Tunuyán, y en la ONG Rock and Vida.
