New Online Course for Health Professionals: HIV Treatment and Management

The BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS (BC-CfE) and its Education and Training team has come out with an updated online course. Called HIV Treatment and Management, this free of charge course is available to all healthcare professionals in BC and will help support their continuing medical education needs.

HIV Treatment and Management allows learners to access up-to-date knowledge on the treatment and management of people living with HIV. Among the new elements of this course is a section on antiretrovirals initiation and switches, management of opportunistic infections, and a section on HIV in women which was developed by the team at the Oak Tree Clinic at BC Women’s.

The course, offering information applicable to clinical practice and quality patient care based on the latest BC-CfE treatment guidelines, is tailored to health care providers seeking to increase their knowledge on the treatment and management of people living with HIV.

If you find the course contents too advanced, please contact education@bccfe.ca for alternative learning materials. Successful completion of this course is a pre-requisite for the BC-CfE Intensive Preceptorship Training Program . As mentioned, HIV Treatment and Management is free of charge and an open enrolment course, allowing participants to register at any time during the year.
