World AIDS Day 2025 – Presentation and Panel

Monday, December 1st, marks World AIDS Day and the beginning of Indigenous AIDS Awareness Week, a time to reflect on the lives lost to AIDS, the experiences of those living with HIV, and the progress made in ending HIV/AIDS as a pandemic.

To mark the day and raise awareness of recent changes to the epidemic, we invite you to join us at St. Paul’s Hospital for an update on the current HIV response in BC and Canada. Both face rising rates of HIV, funding uncertainty, and a need for renewed public attention.

Alongside the Health Initiative for Men (HiM), Pacific AIDS Network (PAN) and Providence Health Care (PHC), the BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS invites you to join us to review and invigorate the response, to reverse the course of the epidemic.

Time: 9:30-11:00am
Date: Monday, December 1, 2025
Location: Cullen Family Lecture Theatre (Room 1477)
Providence Level 1, St. Paul’s Hospital
1081 Burrard Street, Vancouver, BC

*Light refreshments provided

We look forward to seeing you at St. Paul’s Hospital this World AIDS Day to renew our call to end HIV/AIDS by 2030!

The BC-CfE Laboratory is streamlining reporting processes for certain tests in order to simplify distribution and record-keeping, and to ensure completeness of results. Beginning September 2, 2025, results for the ‘Resistance Analysis of HIV-1 Protease and Reverse Transcriptase’ (Protease-RT) and ‘HIV-1 Integrase Resistance Genotype’ tests will be combined into a single ‘HIV-1 Resistance Genotype Report’.
