What You Will Do
Reporting to the IT Manager (or designate), this position provides first-line technical support to BC CfE staff by assisting with diagnosing and resolving routine technical issues. The role involves assessing user needs and supporting the installation, configuration, and deployment of desktop systems. It provides Tier 1 support for desktops, peripherals, printers, networks, and user accounts. The position rotates between two sites, with working hours alternating between 8:00 AM–4:00 PM and 10:00 AM–6:00 PM based on operational requirements.
What You Bring
Education
- Completion of a computer systems technology certificate or diploma program, plus six months to one year of recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong understanding of technology, including hardware, networks, and operating systems.
- Advanced knowledge of Apple and Windows operating systems.
- Proven ability to organize, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Effective problem-solving skills with the ability to develop practical solutions.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Proficiency in using relevant equipment and tools.
- Physical capability to perform the duties of the position.

Your Day to Day:
- Deliver desktop support to BC CfE staff for IT-related inquiries and issues.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve problems related to desktops, printers, networks, and phone systems
- Ensure timely resolution of issues or escalate them appropriately to senior IT team members.
- Maintain software applications and monitor licensing compliance to ensure optimal use.
- Install, test, and configure workstations, peripheral devices, and software.
- Provide or coordinate basic user training and system demonstrations.
- Support user accounts administration, including setup, password resets, access permissions, and deactivation.
- Support administration of email accounts, global address lists, and distribution groups.
- Participate in internal and external meetings and committees as required.
- Provide technical support for video conferencing, projectors, monitors, computers, phones, webinars, and related technologies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
