A Profile in HIV Outreach – Fraser Health

The Fraser Health STOP HIV/AIDS¨ (Seek and Treat for Optimal Prevention) team is dedicated to the prevention, testing, treatment and provision of support services for all sexually transmitted and blood borne infections, including HIV. The Fraser Health Authority serves 1.8 million people living in communities stretching from Burnaby to White Rock to Hope. A group of outreach nurses shared about their experiences working as part of the STOP team.

The BC-CfE Laboratory is streamlining reporting processes for certain tests in order to simplify distribution and record-keeping, and to ensure completeness of results. Beginning September 2, 2025, results for the ‘Resistance Analysis of HIV-1 Protease and Reverse Transcriptase’ (Protease-RT) and ‘HIV-1 Integrase Resistance Genotype’ tests will be combined into a single ‘HIV-1 Resistance Genotype Report’.
