Welcome to the BC-CfE's Privacy Statement

The BC-CfE creates, collects and maintains personal information for the purposes of fulfilling its mandate. This information falls into the following categories:

  1. Data created or collected to manage the Drug Treatment Program, a service to the Ministry of Health
  2. Data created or collected to provide health care services such as laboratory, physician visit or other clinical care data
  3. Data collected for the purposes of evaluating health care service provision
  4. Data collected for the purposes of public health monitoring and surveillance; and
  5. Data collected for the purposes of performing research in the public interest.

The personal information in these categories are stored or organized in what the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act [RSBC 1996] Chapter 165 (“FIPPA”) calls “Personal Information Banks”1. The BC-CfE has several databases, drives or other systems that could constitute a Personal Information Bank (PIB), and in order to be transparent about our collection of this data, has prepared the following list of such PIBs. Canada Post has provided notification of restarting their operations on December 17, 2024. As Canada Post ramps up and stabilizes their services, the BC-CfE will continue the following measures on an interim basis to minimize service disruption to BC-CfE clients and providers.

  • The BC-CfE Laboratory will utilize private courier for delivery of outgoing reports and documents. (Lab Contact Information: Phone 604-806-8775; FAX 604-806-9463)
  • The BC-CfE Drug Treatment Program (DTP) will fax outgoing forms and documents to the provider’s office. (DTP Contact Information: Phone 604-806-8515; FAX 604-806-9044)
  • St. Paul’s Hospital Ambulatory Pharmacy will utilize private courier for delivery of medications. (Contact Information: Phone 1-800-547-3622; FAX 604-806-8675)
