Yes, if there’s any “realistic possibility” of passing on the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), the Supreme Court has just ruled in an important and welcome decision. It rightly reaffirms a principle the court first set out in 1998. It will remain a grave criminal offence for people with HIV not to reveal their status to partners who stand a realistic chance of becoming infected.
