Coming soon: news from HIVR4P and HIV Glasgow conferences

Later this month, NAM will be reporting from two international HIV conferences – HIV Research for Prevention (HIVR4P) and the International Congress on Drug Therapy in HIV Infection (HIV Glasgow).

HIVR4P

HIVR4P is being held in Chicago, USA from 17-21 October.

The conference is dedicated to biomedical HIV prevention research, including vaccines, microbicides, pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and treatment as prevention.

We will be reporting on key research presented at the conference, publishing news online at www.aidsmap.com/HIVR4P-2016 and sending out one conference bulletin (in English) the week following the conference. HIV Glasgow

HIV Glasgow is taking place from 23-26 October in Glasgow, UK.

NAM is the official provider of online science news for the conference.

Among the highlights of the conference there will be new research on:

  • PrEP implementation
  • Simplified two-drug regimens for long-term treatment
  • Use of generic drugs for treatment of HIV and hepatitis C
  • New antiretroviral agents for treatment-experienced people
  • Tolerability of newer antiretroviral drugs
  • New models of HIV care
  • Co-morbidities, including cancers and tuberculosis.

Canada Post has provided notification of restarting their operations on December 17, 2024. As Canada Post ramps up and stabilizes their services, the BC-CfE will continue the following measures on an interim basis to minimize service disruption to BC-CfE clients and providers.
