The International HIV Treatment as Prevention Workshop brings academic, policy, industry, and community representatives together to review and discuss research and policy progress in the field of HIV Treatment as Prevention. Specifically, delegates review new data and identify priority areas for research and action related to the impact of combination antiretroviral therapy (ART) use among HIV infected individuals on the transmission of HIV infection and other relevant treatment outcomes.
The 2014 Treatment as Prevention Workshop is a single track meeting with daily plenary, debates, oral abstract, and poster sessions. Each oral session has abundant time dedicated to open discussion, providing an opportunity for participants to share their experience to date, as well as protocols, preliminary findings and future plans and needs.
April 1-4, 2014 marks the 4th International Treatment as Prevention Workshop.

Day One – Political Segment
The opening of this year’s workshop featured a political segment co-hosted by UNAIDS and the BC-Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS.
This Davos-style roundtable session brought together key national decision-makers and pivotal international partners to explore the importance of new treatment targets, drawing on best practices and country-led examples.
