Please Note: We are aware that several organizations and companies have security measures in place (eg firewalls) that prevent people from accessing certain kinds of sites or streaming video on the net. Unfortunately we’ve discovered that some of these prevent people from being able to view our live streaming broadcasts. We suggest that individuals who find that they are unable to watch the live broadcast do one of the following: contact their IT department and see whether or not there are any restrictions on their network OR find a computer outside of the network (home computer or internet cafe) and attempt to view the live broadcast that way.

As well we will be providing an archived copy of the ARV Update on our site approximately one week after the live broadcast. These files can be downloaded and watched later on your computer.

About the HIV/ARV Update

The Spring HIV/Antiretroviral Update will take place on Monday June 20, 2011 from approximately 8:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Sheraton Wall Centre Hotel located across from St. Paul’s Hospital in Downtown Vancouver.

This is an open educational event sponsored by the BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS and accredited by the College of Family Physicians of Canada. A light breakfast, lunch and refreshments throughout the day will be provided on site.

For those who will not be attending in person, this event will be streamed live and link to the live stream will be made available here on June 20th. Interested parties may also follow the online discussion via the official Twitter hashtag #hivarv.

** Please note that this Update will be held in a different location at the Sheraton Wall Centre Hotel. It will take place in the Pavilion Ballroom, which is located on the 3rd floor of the South Tower.

If entering the hotel through the main entrance off Burrard/Helmcken Street, please take the elevator or the stairs from the lobby to the 3rd floor and walk down the hall until reaching the Pavilion Ballroom

If entering through the North Tower, which is the entrance off Burrard/Nelson Street, please take the escalator from the lobby to the 3rd floor and head down the hall until reaching the Pavilion Ballroom.

During the Canada Post strike, the following measures have been undertaken to minimize service disruption to BC-CfE clients and providers.

  • The BC-CfE Laboratory has transitioned to private courier for delivery of outgoing reports and documents. (Lab Contact Information: Phone 604-806-8775; FAX 604-806-9463)
  • The BC-CfE Drug Treatment Program (DTP) will fax outgoing forms and documents to the provider’s office.  (DTP Contact Information: Phone 604-806-8515; FAX 604-806-9044)
  • St. Paul’s Hospital Ambulatory Pharmacy has transitioned to private courier for delivery of medications. (Contact Information: Phone 1-800-547-3622; FAX 604-806-8675)

During this time, we recommend that documents be faxed or couriered to our sites, versus utilization of regular mail service.
