About Dr. Shira Goldenberg:
Dr. Shira Goldenberg is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with the Gender and Sexual Health Initiative (GSHI) of the BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS and the Division of AIDS in the Department of Medicine at the University of British Columbia. Dr. Goldenberg has been conducting qualitative, epidemiological, and mixed methods research on migration, mobility, and other structural determinants of HIV/STIs and access to care among sex workers, their clients, and migrant populations in Canada, Mexico and Central America since 2006.

The BC-CfE Laboratory is streamlining reporting processes for certain tests in order to simplify distribution and record-keeping, and to ensure completeness of results. Beginning September 2, 2025, results for the ‘Resistance Analysis of HIV-1 Protease and Reverse Transcriptase’ (Protease-RT) and ‘HIV-1 Integrase Resistance Genotype’ tests will be combined into a single ‘HIV-1 Resistance Genotype Report’.
