On Wednesday February 8th, the BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS Forefront Lecture Series will be presenting a lecture by Dr. Tomer Hertz titled “Mapping the landscape of host-pathogen co-evolution through the prism of HLA class I-peptide interactions.”
Dr. Tomer Hertz is a Staff Scientist with the Vaccine and Infectious Disease Division at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, Washington. His general research interests are in machine learning and computational immunology, where his research has focused on developing a framework for major histocompatibility complex (MHC) protein-peptide binding prediction and MHC supertype classification. His recent work focuses on T-cell and B-cell immunodominance, HLA binding prediction & its applications in vaccine design, sieve analysis of breakthrough infections, and development of a high-throughput platform for high-resolution mapping of B-cell responses using antigen microarrays.
The talk will be at 12pm in the Hurlburt Auditorium at St. Paul’s Hospital.
A light lunch and refreshments will be served.
