“The impact of host immunity on HIV-1 fitness”
Mark Brockman, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Molecular Biology at Simon Fraser University. He is also an Associate Scientist in the Laboratory Program at the B.C. Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS. Dr. Brockman’s research investigates HIV virology, AIDS pathogenesis, and host immune responses to HIV protein function. His current studies focus on viral immune escape mutations, the ability of T cells to recognize and kill HIV-infected cells, and identifying cellular reservoirs and their role in disease.
