“Two Decades of Community-Based Research with Injection Drug Users in the San Francisco Bay Area”

Dr. Alex Kral is the Director of the Urban Health Program in the San Francisco Regional office of RTI International and Associate Adjunct Professor of Epidemiology in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at UCSF. For the past two decades, he has been conducting policy-relevant community-based health research with urban poor populations including injection drug users, the homeless, Latino migrant day laborers, and runaway/homeless youth. An infectious disease epidemiologist by training, his primary focus is on the nexus of substance use and infectious diseases including HIV.

  • St. Paul’s Hospital Ambulatory Pharmacy has transitioned to private courier for delivery of medications. (Contact Information: Phone 1-800-547-3622; FAX 604-806-8675)

During this time, we recommend that documents be faxed or couriered to our sites, versus utilization of regular mail service.
