Double trouble: Treating pain and addiction

Our third “What’s New?” lecture will be Thursday December 12th between 12-12:55pm, featuring a presentation by Dr. Launette Rieb, of the St. Paul’s Addiction Medicine Fellowship Program, entitled “Double trouble: Treating pain and addiction”. Dr. Rieb will speak for approximately 40 minutes, allowing for about 15 minutes of questions and discussion. This lecture will take place at St. Paul’s Hospital in the Hurlburt Auditorium and will include a light lunch. We encourage everyone to please click here to RSVP, however please be reminded that we don’t require you to print off a ticket to attend, this is solely to get an idea of attendance. Dr. Rieb is the Physician Director of the St. Paul’s Hospital Goldcorp Addiction Medicine Fellowship. She is a Family Physician certified by The American Board of Addiction Medicine and the Canadian Society of Addiction Medicine. She is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Family Practice at UBC. She works clinically and teaches in the fields of Addiction Medicine and Pain Rehabilitation. During the Canada Post strike, the following measures have been undertaken to minimize service disruption to BC-CfE clients and providers.

  • The BC-CfE Laboratory has transitioned to private courier for delivery of outgoing reports and documents. (Lab Contact Information: Phone 604-806-8775; FAX 604-806-9463)
  • The BC-CfE Drug Treatment Program (DTP) will fax outgoing forms and documents to the provider’s office.  (DTP Contact Information: Phone 604-806-8515; FAX 604-806-9044)
  • St. Paul’s Hospital Ambulatory Pharmacy has transitioned to private courier for delivery of medications. (Contact Information: Phone 1-800-547-3622; FAX 604-806-8675)

During this time, we recommend that documents be faxed or couriered to our sites, versus utilization of regular mail service.
