Dr. Morgan Philbin

Dr. Morgan Philbin is a social and behavioral scientist whose work explores how social-structural factors impact HIV and substance use risk among racial and sexual minority youth. She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociomedical Sciences at the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. Dr. Philbin’s primary project is a NIDA-funded K01 that examines how state-level policies impact sexual health and substance use risk for sexual minority youth. She is also Co-Investigator on study exploring how state-level marijuana policies impact substance use for sexual minority individuals and is leading a mixed-methods study among women in the Women’s Interagency HIV Study (WIHS) to explore their knowledge of and attitudes toward long-acting injectable HIV therapy.
This is a free lecture and is open to the public. The lectures are geared towards researchers, clinicians, students and hospital staff.
