Change Manager

SALARY:  $ 88,990 – $ 120,545

LOCATION: BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS

ORGANIZATION: The BC-CfE is a world-renowned HIV/AIDS Centre with innovative, low barrier approach to healthcare delivery in clinical practice and an integrated group of research concentrations in Laboratory Sciences, Clinical Trials, Population Health and Epidemiology, Health Economics and Professional Education Programs. A multidisciplinary team of clinicians including Physicians, Nurses, Social Workers and Peers and researchers including Health Economists, Epidemiologists, Clinical Researchers, Statisticians, Programmers, and Data Analysts work collaboratively to improve the health of British Columbians with HIV and communities facing socio-economic barriers in accessing healthcare through the development, ongoing monitoring and dissemination of comprehensive research and treatment programs for HIV and related diseases.

ROLE:  The Change Manager is accountable for providing leadership and expertise to enable the achievement of complex organizational change initiatives and transformation, and reports directly to the Director of Operations. This role includes assessing the risk and impact of the change, assessing change readiness, creating and implementing change management strategies. The Change Manager provides professional expertise, guidance and input into project planning and supports the implementation key projects and initiatives in the Core Operations Portfolio. This role strives to affect and encourage adoption, increase utilization of and proficiency with relevant changes that impact employees, increasing benefit realization, value creation, return of investment and the achievement of results and outcomes.

  • Plans, develops, implements, revises and evaluates change management project requirements across multiple project action items (e.g. Impact assessments, communication planning, etc.)
  • Fosters and facilitates relationship building, networking, and collective development to advance shared change management priorities across all stakeholder groups.
  • Builds capacity through knowledge exchange and knowledge translation activities with a variety of operational leaders, staff and external stakeholders.
  • Applies the processes, tools and techniques to effectively assess and manage the impact of transformational change in the project.
  • Consult with clients on complex changes and transformation, building strong relationships across a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with project managers, leaders, and teams to coordinate change activities and address any issues that arise.
  • Oversee the execution of change initiatives, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Establish a communication plan with key messages to reach core audience in order to drive needed change.

Qualification

Education Training and Experience

  • A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline, such as Health or Business Administration, Leadership or Organizational Development with five to ten (5-10) years of related change management, project management or organizational experience.

Skills and Abilities

  • Training and experience in change methodology/framework is an asset.
  • Change Management certification (PROSCI) is considered an asset.
  • Exceptional relationship building skills across diverse stakeholder groups, populations and client groups.
  • Proficiency with project management approaches, tools, and phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Possess strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of the public sector, the social sector, or healthcare would be considered an asset.
  • Ability to work effectively under time pressure to meet deadlines, balance work priorities and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Functional knowledge of word-processing, spreadsheet, presentation, project management and database applications.
