Hope to Health brings comprehensive care to the Downtown Eastside

The BC-CfE is bringing comprehensive, wrap-around, health care to residents of Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside (DTES) through the services it offers at its Hope to Health Research and Innovation Complex (H2H). Opened in late 2019 and located in the heart of Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside (DTES), H2H is a multi-building complex that provides integrated harm reduction, safer supply, and primary care services to its clients with on-site laboratory services.

BC-CfE joins REACH Collaboratory in HIV cure research

The BC-CfE’s Laboratory and its Director, Dr. Zabrina Brumme, are celebrating another recent success in being awarded grant funding for research. The BC-CfE, along with frequent collaborating partner Simon Fraser University, are now a part of the U.S.-based Research Enterprise to Advance a Cure for HIV (REACH) Collaboratory.

BC-CfE’s Rachel Miller wins prestigious IAS award

It’s been a busy summer for Rachel Miller, a graduate student in the BC-CfE’s Molecular Epidemiology and Evolutionary Genetics Group. Miller won a scholarship to attend the 23rd annual International AIDS Conference and she also won a prestigious award for the abstract she’ll be presenting at the conference.

During the Canada Post strike, the following measures have been undertaken to minimize service disruption to BC-CfE clients and providers.

  • The BC-CfE Laboratory has transitioned to private courier for delivery of outgoing reports and documents. (Lab Contact Information: Phone 604-806-8775; FAX 604-806-9463)
  • The BC-CfE Drug Treatment Program (DTP) will fax outgoing forms and documents to the provider’s office.  (DTP Contact Information: Phone 604-806-8515; FAX 604-806-9044)
  • St. Paul’s Hospital Ambulatory Pharmacy has transitioned to private courier for delivery of medications. (Contact Information: Phone 1-800-547-3622; FAX 604-806-8675)

During this time, we recommend that documents be faxed or couriered to our sites, versus utilization of regular mail service.
