Minimum: $67,861.00
Maximum: $93,308.60

ORGANIZATION: The BC-CfE is a world-renowned HIV/AIDS Centre with an innovative, low-barrier approach to healthcare delivery in clinical practice and an integrated group of research concentrations in Laboratory Sciences, Clinical Trials, Population Health and Epidemiology, Health Economics and Professional Education Programs. A multidisciplinary team of clinicians including Physicians, Nurses, Social Workers and Peers and researchers including Health Economists, Epidemiologists, Clinical Researchers, Statisticians, Programmers, and Data Analysts work collaboratively to improve the health of British Columbians with HIV and communities facing socio-economic barriers in accessing healthcare.

ROLE SUMMARY: As a Data Linkage Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our data integration and analysis efforts. Your expertise will ensure accurate linkage across diverse data sources, contributing to our mission of combatting HIV/AIDS through innovative research.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and maintain sophisticated data linkage systems using SAS software and Oracle databases.
  • Cleanse, transform, and seamlessly link data across multiple databases, emphasizing precision and consistency.
  • Collaborate closely with researchers and clinicians to resolve any data discrepancies.
  • Implement robust data validation and quality control measures aligned with the Centre’s standards.
  • Prepare meticulously curated datasets for analysis, adhering to privacy and legislative requirements specific to British Columbia.
  • Document data linkage processes, enriching the Centre’s knowledge base.
  • Stay informed about developments in administrative data linkage, particularly regarding privacy and legislative aspects in British Columbia.

ROLE QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Training and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in SAS software and substantial experience with Oracle databases.
  • Familiarity with British Columbia’s privacy laws and data linkage policies.
  • A combination of training and work experience equivalent to 3-5 years of related working experience is considered an asset.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong analytical acumen and unwavering attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Proficiency in Python or R for advanced data manipulation.
  • Knowledge of statistical methods and data mining techniques.
  • Understanding of the health data landscape, particularly within HIV/AIDS research.
